Marty Brennaman: 'I've got a real problem' with timing of Manfred's Pete Rose announcement
Briefly

Marty Brennaman, the longtime Cincinnati Reds broadcaster, expressed his frustrations during a live interview regarding baseball commissioner Rob Manfred's decision to reinstate Pete Rose, who has been permanently ineligible. Brennaman lamented that Rose was not alive to witness this change and criticized the lack of transparency from Manfred over the years. He stated that if Rose is elected to the Hall of Fame, it would feel 'criminal' for him not to be there to celebrate. Mike Schmidt also noted the lasting cloud over Rose's candidacy for the Hall of Fame.
I'm a very opinionated guy. I'm not a fan of Rob Manfred. I just think it's unfortunate that he could not be around if, in fact, he gets into the Hall of Fame.
It's unfortunate that Pete is not here to also celebrate his reinstatement into baseball. It's a problem that I'll never get over.
There will always be 'a cloud' when it comes to Rose's Hall of Fame candidacy.
If he does, it's gonna be criminal that he will not be around to enjoy it.
