"Selected 29th overall by the Athletics in the 2019 draft, Davidson didn't make his debut in the Show until this past May at age 27, and he ended up hitting .167/.222/.286 over 47 plate appearances with the A's and Angels. The A's designated the infielder for assignment in July and he was claimed off waivers by the Astros, only to be DFA'ed again and claimed off waivers by Los Angeles in September."
"Tampa is always on the lookout for multi-positional players, and Davidson fits the bill with a lot of experience at all four infield positions, plus at least some work in all three outfield slots. Shortstop has been Davidson's most frequent position over his minor league career, though he has mostly been utilized as a corner infielder in recent years. Between this defensive versatility and his switch-hitting bat, Davidson brings some pluses to the table"
Logan Davidson agreed to a minor league deal with the Tampa Bay Rays that includes an invitation to big league spring camp. Davidson was the 29th overall pick in 2019 and made his MLB debut at age 27 this past May, producing a .167/.222/.286 line over 47 plate appearances with Oakland and Los Angeles. He experienced multiple DFA and waiver transactions before entering minor league free agency. Davidson has played all four infield positions and some outfield, primarily shortstop in the minors but more often a corner infielder recently. His Triple-A numbers are .271/.367/.441 with 27 homers in 1,002 plate appearances, mostly in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League, and he will compete for a bench role.
