WIRED will post its politics-issue cover across New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, and Washington, DC using wheatpasted posters, digital billboards, and a mural. Readers are invited to locate the cover, photograph it, scan the QR code to read the politics issue, and share discoveries on social platforms. The politics issue features deep reporting on Silicon Valley's political shift and an investigation into Elon Musk's geopolitical influence through SpaceX launches and Starlink satellites. Participants are encouraged to tag WIRED on Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, or X or leave comments to report sightings. The campaign turns cover art into a citywide treasure hunt and seeks to engage readers beyond traditional journalism channels.
