"The 47-year-old pedestrian had been injured on Broad Road, in the early hours of Saturday, September 6. Gardai say he passed away in hospital earlier today. The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged. "The collision, involving a car (SUV) and a pedestrian, occurred shortly before 1am," a Garda spokesperson said. "The pedestrian, a male aged 47 years, was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he was treated for serious injuries.""
"The spokesperson said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users who were in the area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to the investigation.
