Moldova held a parliamentary election on September 28, 2025 to decide between pro-EU and pro-Russia political forces. The pro-EU Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) won just over half of the vote, receiving 50.03% with more than 99.5% of ballots counted, while the pro-Russian Patriotic Bloc took 24.26%. President Maia Sandu accused Russia of 'massive interference' after voting, and rival Igor Dodon alleged interference from Western actors. Two Russia-friendly parties were disqualified before the vote. PAS representatives framed the result as a victory for Europe, peace, progress and democracy.
