Rain to continue into next week before 'ex-hurricane Humberto' arrives on Friday, Met Eireann says
"Rain will continue to spread eastwards, leading to some spot flooding, especially in the northeast, before some sunshine and showers arrive in the afternoon. However, rain will remain heaviest in the northeast with further heavy spells likely into the early evening. It comes as the UK Met Office has issued a yellow rain warning for counties Antrim, Armagh and Down due to heavy rain leading to a chance of some flooding and travel disruption between 7am and 7pm today."
"A day of mainly sunshine and scattered showers has been forecast for Sunday with highs of 13 to 17 degrees, dropping to 5-11 degrees during a drizzly night. Met Éireann expects the week ahead to be "mild with mixed conditions", with forecasters believing that while high pressure will remain "close by for a time, weather fronts will move in from the Atlantic occasionally, bringing some rain and drizzle at times, especially to the west and north"."
"Monday will start with patchy light rain and drizzle with highs of 14 to 17 degrees, with cloudy conditions continuing overnight when scattered outbreaks of light rain are forecast during a "mild and humid night" when temperatures reach no lower than 11 to 14 degrees. Scattered showers continue into Tuesday with some limited sunny spells and highs of 15 to 18 or 19 degrees during the day, and lows of 13 to 15 degrees during another mild and humid night."
Rain will spread eastwards with spot flooding possible, especially in the northeast where rain will remain heaviest with further heavy spells into the early evening. A yellow rain warning covers Antrim, Armagh and Down between 7am and 7pm due to heavy rain and potential travel disruption. Temperatures will reach about 13–17°C by day and fall to lows of 3–9°C overnight. Sunday brings mainly sunshine and scattered showers with highs of 13–17°C. The coming week is expected to be mild with mixed conditions, occasional Atlantic fronts, drier east and south, and more unsettled weather later in the week.
