Sligo Bay and Bundoran RNLI inshore lifeboats were diverted from a routine training exercise shortly before 8pm after a member of the public raised the alarm. The report described a boat aground off Cliffoney Beach with its engine still running. The Coast Guard is coordinating a multi-agency search using a Sligo-based Coast Guard helicopter R118 and the Killybegs Coast Guard Unit. RNLI lifeboats from Bundoran, Arranmore, Ballyglass and Sligo are also involved and are continuing to search the area.
