Kyiv experienced heavy bombardment early Sunday in one of the largest attacks on the capital since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022. At least four people, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed and at least ten were injured in Kyiv. Drones and missiles struck multiple regions overnight, including Zaporizhzhia, where at least 16 people, including three children, were injured. Ukrainian officials reported extensive destruction of residential buildings and civilian casualties. Ukraine's foreign minister said hundreds of drones and missiles were used in the widespread assault and called for measures to maximise the cost of further escalation for Russia. Many residents sought shelter in metro stations as rescuers worked at damaged apartment sites.
