We just had an accidental head clash. Soon as that happened I could see blood everywhere. Soon as I got back to the room I contacted PFL. Soon as the doctor came in, he saw the cut, he said there's no way you can fight with that."
Artem Lobov was forced out of his scheduled PFL Dubai bout with Zubaira Tukhugov after suffering an injury during training days before the event. Lobov had planned a return from a five-year retirement to settle a longstanding feud with Tukhugov. During a late-night grappling session intended to be safe, an accidental head clash opened a cut that bled heavily. Lobov contacted PFL and a ringside doctor examined the wound and ruled him unfit to compete. Lobov explained the sequence on social media. The feud traces back to a past altercation that helped trigger Conor McGregor's clash with Khabib Nurmagomedov. No rebooking has been announced.
