Pericic followed with strikes, and after Ellison pulled guard he delivered decisive ground-and-pound that rendered Ellison unconscious. The stoppage occurred at 1:55 of the first round. Pericic later revealed personal sacrifices, including sleeping in gyms and taking a $100,000 loan to pursue the UFC.
