Andreas Gustafsson had a challenging road to his UFC 316 debut after multiple opponent withdrawals. Facing Khaos Williams, he quickly imposed his aggressive fighting style. From the start, Gustafsson pressed Williams, utilizing clinch work and heavy strikes to control the match. Throughout the rounds, Gustafsson maintained relentless pressure, scoring multiple takedowns and effectively using dirty boxing to wear down Williams. By the third round, it was evident that Gustafsson's strategy was successful, leading him to dominate the fight and secure a one-sided victory.
Gustafsson wasted no time at the start of round one, charging forward and pressing Williams from the opening bell. However, Williams quickly reversed position and pinned Gustafsson against the cage.
In round two, Gustafsson continued to push forward, undeterred by return fire and eager to close the distance. Williams couldn't land anything meaningful before he was once again pushed to the cage.
Entering the third, Williams needed a finish, but Gustafsson stuck to the game plan, immediately pressing him to the fence. Even when Williams managed to reverse, Gustafsson still landed the cleaner shots.
His dirty boxing began to break Williams down, and as the round progressed, it was clear who was in control of the fight.
