UFC 316: Mario Bautista Not Looking to Change Anything Despite Criticism of Last Fight
Briefly

Mario Bautista is set to face Patchy Mix at UFC 316 after a prior focus on Chito Vera. Mix, a notable bantamweight outside the UFC, represents a significant challenge for Bautista, who has a strong 7-fight win streak. Bautista expressed excitement for the matchup, acknowledging Mix's skills and fanfare despite his lack of UFC bouts. Following criticism for his last fight against Jose Aldo, Bautista emphasizes he won't alter his approach to please fans, assuring that every fight offers a unique challenge and his performance will differ this time.
"I'm excited to fight Patchy. It's a big opponent, he's very skilled, so I'm excited to challenge myself against him," Bautista told media outlets.
"The die hard fans, they know who Patchy is, and we all know who Patchy is, and how good he is. So that's what makes me excited for this fight," Bautista noted.
"I'm not looking to go out there and change anything and make those fans happy, because at the end of the day it doesn't even really matter," he stated.
"I'm on a seven fight win streak, and I would understand if all those fights were the same way- I would understand. But each fight is different and I can guarantee this one is going to be a lot different," Bautista expressed.
