Samsung clarifies the timing for the One UI 9 beta, debut set for the upcoming Galaxy Z launch
"Speaking of, the new press release also adds this detail - One UI 9 (based on Android 17) will debut with the next generation of Galaxy Z foldables. The company hasn't officially set a date yet, but the last three Z generations have all been announced in July, so that's a safe bet. Meanwhile, Google Pixels have been running Android 17 betas for a while now, but the stable release is expected to be announced at Google I/O, which is scheduled for May 19-20 (Tuesday and Wednesday next week)."
One UI 9 beta rollout will begin in South Korea, the US, the UK, Germany, Poland, and India, with Poland and India starting on May 26. The first wave includes South Korea, the US, the UK, and Germany. Participation requires a supported Samsung phone, being in a supported region, and signing up through the Samsung Members app. Supported devices currently include only the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, with older models expected to join later. One UI 9 is based on Android 17 and will debut with the next generation of Galaxy Z foldables, likely announced in July. Google Pixels have already been running Android 17 betas, with a stable release expected at Google I/O on May 19–20.
