Xiaomi Tag will take on Apple's AirTag and the Moto Tag
"According to a new rumor out of China, Xiaomi is working on the Xiaomi Tag. As the name very obviously implies, this will be a tracking device that competes head-on with Apple's AirTag and the Moto Tag. It's said to become official on December 26 in China alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Whether it will get an international launch later on remains to be seen, but we're definitely hoping it does."
"The Xiaomi Tag is going to use UWB technology like the AirTag. The Xiaomi Tag is expected to work with Google's Find My Device network. It's allegedly going to be priced under $25, at least in China."
Xiaomi is said to be developing the Xiaomi Tag, a tracking device positioned to compete with Apple's AirTag and the Moto Tag. The device is reportedly slated to be unveiled in China on December 26 alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Use of UWB technology is expected, matching AirTag capabilities. The Xiaomi Tag is expected to integrate with Google's Find My Device network for location tracking. Pricing in China is alleged to be under $25. If priced below $25, the Xiaomi Tag would present a lower-cost alternative to existing trackers and could broaden adoption of UWB-based tracking accessories. International availability and launch timing remain unclear.
