"The jammy Japanese psych band Kikagaku Moyo broke up in 2022, but singer/drummer/cofounder Go Kurosawa has since launched a solo career, releasing his debut album soft shakes last year on his Guruguru Brain label. If you dug his band's heady, trippy music there is lots to love here."
"Go Kurosawa will be on his first solo tour in the US starting next week at Knoxville's Big Ears Festival and then Boise's Treefort Music Fest. Shows after that are on the West Coast but he will hit NYC before leaving, playing in-the-round at Le Poisson Rouge on April 8 with Gift Horse."
Go Kurosawa, co-founder and drummer of the Japanese psychedelic band Kikagaku Moyo, has embarked on a solo career following the band's 2022 breakup. His debut album, soft shakes, was released on his Guruguru Brain label and maintains the trippy, heady musical style fans appreciated from his previous band. Kurosawa is undertaking his first solo US tour, beginning in March 2026 at major festivals including Big Ears in Knoxville and Treefort Music Fest in Boise, followed by West Coast dates and a New York performance at Le Poisson Rouge on April 8.
