"Lamb of God have released a new standalone single called "Sepsis." Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, the three-and-a-half minute track is swinging slab of sludge metal - sludgier than Lamb of God usually get. Frontman Randy Blythe digs into his lowest register for bellowed growls, and aside from a brief blasty bit, the band are content to ride the bruising, slower tempo."
"'Sepsis' is a celebration of the very underground local bands here in Richmond that we really admired when we were just forming Burn the Priest. Bands like Breadwinner, Sliang Laos, and Ladyfinger-though they never got widespread attention outside of Richmond, those were the bands we listened to all the time. The song references that stuff in a way that's a direct line to where we were coming from when we were in the basement writing our earliest material together."
Lamb of God released a standalone single titled "Sepsis." Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, the three-and-a-half-minute track emphasizes a sludgier, slower tempo with bruising riffs. Randy Blythe sings in his lowest register with bellowed growls, and a brief blasty section is the only uptick in tempo. Lyrically the track pays homage to Richmond's underground scene, referencing bands such as Breadwinner, Sliang Laos, and Ladyfinger. The Gianfranco Svagelj-directed video mixes lo-fi performance footage with clips of Richmond's underbelly. The single follows a 2024 collaboration with Mastodon and precedes upcoming festival and cruise appearances.
