"The one thing that my father was most proud of is that he was a Brummie [Birmingham native], and Birmingham has done him proud."
Ozzy Osbourne was posthumously honored with Birmingham's Lord Mayor's Award on what would have been his 77th birthday, with Sharon and Kelly Osbourne accepting the award on his behalf from Councillor Ken Wood. The Lord Mayor's Award recognizes outstanding achievement or exceptional service to the City and people of Birmingham. Kelly Osbourne posted a video message thanking Birmingham for showing the family so much love and for making their father the happiest man on the planet. Kelly noted that Ozzy was proud to be a Brummie and that Birmingham had done him proud. A Book of Condolences with tributes from Birmingham citizens was presented. Ozzy died on July 22, seventeen days after his final concert at Villa Park with Black Sabbath.
