Joe Sutkowski will release his third Dirt Buyer album, Dirt Buyer III, on Friday (2/6) via Bayonet Records. The record shifts toward a louder, bolder, more hi‑fi indie rock aesthetic than previous work. Songs deliver a cathartic release rooted in dark, personal themes created during Sutkowski's struggles with alcohol and relationship issues while writing. Substantial personal work and survival enabled open reflection on those experiences. Sutkowski remains active in the NYC music scene, leading Dirt Buyer and performing in This Is Lorelei's live band, and he compiled a list of five favorite New York bands.
