Zohran Mamdani celebrated his marriage to illustrator Rama Duwaji with a three-day bash in Uganda, attended by armed military security and a cellphone jamming system. The event took place at Mamdani's family compound outside Kampala, featuring various luxury vehicles to transport guests. Mamdani announced his trip on social media, indicating it was a personal celebration. The festivities coincided with the mourning period for a deceased neighbor, raising concerns about the event's timing and sensitivity among local observers.
Outside the Mamdani house were more than 20 special forces command unit guards, some in masks, and there was a phone-jamming system set up - and all for the strictly invite-only Mamdani event.
He was joking in a video on his X page that he was 'going back to Uganda' to celebrate his marriage with family and friends, assuring NYC to not worry.
