Exclusive | A $25K/month rental will be the priciest in its Brooklyn neighborhood - which is seeing a luxury upswing
Briefly

Brooklyn's Gowanus neighborhood is undergoing significant changes as low-slung industrial buildings are being replaced by luxury condominiums. The new development at 544 Carroll includes 133 units with prices ranging from $4,700 to $25,000 per month. Notable features include spacious layouts, with the largest duplex at 2,500 square feet, and a quarter of the apartments being permanently affordable. The development aims to cater to the demands of a growing renter-by-choice demographic, emphasizing roominess typically absent in New York rentals.
The $25,000-a-month unit beats out the neighborhood's current highest rental price by an excess of $13,500.
A quarter of the apartments are designated as permanently affordable.
Jesse Wark stated, 'I think most people would not recognize these as New York rentals. Given the space, you can fit a dining table in your one-bedroom along with your living room.'
The smallest units are a sizable 630 square feet, and every two-bedroom comes with two bathrooms to match.
