""We did so much. Saw the school, facilities, and dinners. We went over my film, both the good clips and the bad clips. The fans at the football game were great. As soon as I walked in the stadium, they knew who I was.""
""He has developed professionals. He is truthful, kindhearted and down to earth. He is hard on his guys and good to them off the court. ... It will be great to learn from [Vaughn]. He kept it real.""
Five-star point guard Taylen Kinney committed to the Kansas Jayhawks after visiting his final six schools: Louisville, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Oregon and Kansas. An August trip to Kansas shifted momentum toward the Jayhawks as Kinney described the visit as feeling like family, noting facilities, dinners, film review and strong fan recognition. Kinney cited relationships with coach Bill Self and assistant Jacque Vaughn as major factors. Kinney, a 6-foot-3 Overtime Elite guard, is No. 17 overall and the No. 4 point guard in the 2026 SportsCenter NEXT rankings. He is an evolving playmaker, an aggressive, shifty driver with burst and natural instincts.
