Bills ride 'vibe' to beat Pats, stay in AFC East race
""Our guys, they understand. They have a good feel for when they are and when they're not playing the way we need to play," coach Sean McDermott said. "And I saw Josh [Allen] as I was kind of bringing everybody up [at halftime], and he looked at me. I just knew he was seeing it like I was. The entire team was on the same vibe.""
""[The return] giving us confidence of hey, like, let's just go play football now," Allen said. "We don't have to worry about the score. We're going to take it one play at a time. But [Davis] did a great job.""
Buffalo trailed New England 24-7 at halftime after the Patriots repeatedly moved the ball and TreVeon Henderson scored on a 52-yard rushing touchdown. The Bills shifted momentum immediately with a 58-yard opening kickoff return by Ray Davis, then scored five straight touchdown drives in the second half under Josh Allen's leadership. Buffalo outscored New England 28-7 after halftime and completed a 21-point comeback. The comeback tied for the third-largest in franchise history including playoffs and marked the largest blown lead by the Patriots at Gillette Stadium and at home since 1978. Allen's MVP odds rose to third per DraftKings.
