"I appreciate everyone for checking in. Just know, I'm not going to be sitting around. I'll be doing my rehab, and I'm also going to start doing some community events while I have some unfortunate extra free time."
"They said I couldn't sweat, they didn't say I couldn't work out and do a little bit here and there. A set of 50 curls and 50 shoulder presses every hour, so you know keep the body activated."
Austin Ekeler suffered a torn Achilles late in the game against the Green Bay Packers and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. He is one week removed from surgery, using a weight-bearing scooter and wearing a cast while beginning rehabilitation. Ekeler plans to remain active with structured upper-body workouts and hourly exercise sets to keep his body engaged. He also intends to participate in community events during recovery to keep football central to his routine. Ekeler rose from undrafted status to become a prolific dual-threat, and the injury presents a significant career challenge given his age.
