Trinidad Chambliss transferred to Ole Miss from Division II Ferris State after not receiving Division I scholarships out of high school. He started in place of injured Austin Simmons and completed 23-of-39 passes for 314 yards and one touchdown while rushing 14 times for 71 yards. Chambliss led Ole Miss to a 24-19 victory over No. 4 LSU before 67,737 fans, moving the Rebels to 5-0 and into College Football Playoff consideration. He became the first SEC player in 30 years with three straight games of 300 passing and 50 rushing yards. Coach Lane Kiffin praised Chambliss and left the starting role undecided entering a bye week. Ole Miss committed 14 penalties for 109 yards.
