Kitchener Rangers signed Swiss goaltender Christian Kirsch to an OHL Standard Player Agreement. Kirsch, drafted by the San Jose Sharks and selected in the 2025 CHL Import Draft, stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 201 pounds. Last season, he had an 8-15-0 record in the NAHL with a 3.16 goals-against-average and a .912 save percentage. Kirsch struggled in the USHL before being traded to the Chicago Steel. The Rangers aim for strong goaltending with Kirsch and prospect Jason Schaubel for the upcoming season.
Christian Kirsch, a Swiss goaltender, has signed with the Kitchener Rangers after being drafted in the 2024 NHL Draft by the San Jose Sharks and selected in the 2025 CHL Import Draft.
In the 2024-25 season, Kirsch recorded an 8-15-0 record with a 3.16 goals-against-average and a .912 save percentage with the Janesville Jets.
After struggling with a 5.09 goals-against-average in the USHL, Kirsch expressed excitement to join the Kitchener Rangers and compete next season.
With Kirsch signed, the Rangers are set to have a strong goaltending duo with him and 2026 NHL draft-eligible Jason Schaubel.
