There was no immediate word on the extent of the injury. Panthers coach Paul Maurice said Barkov was getting further evaluation."
""Beyond our control, so there's no concern," Maurice said. "If we have to learn to win hockey games without good players, if that's the adversity or the test that we face this year, that's what we're going to do. I'm not a doctor. Whatever the report is, it won't affect how we handle that next day. If he's not in the lineup on opening night, or if he misses an e"
Aleksander Barkov suffered a right-leg injury during the Florida Panthers' first full training camp practice and required assistance leaving the ice. The injury occurred as most veterans returned to camp and came after initial roster cuts from 72 to 55 players. Panthers coach Paul Maurice said Barkov is receiving further evaluation and promised updates. Barkov led the team in assists with 51 and ranked second with 71 points last season, adding playoff production during the Stanley Cup run. Matthew Tkachuk is already expected to miss several weeks recovering from offseason surgery.
