Panthers fall 3-2 to Lightning in Orlando
"Tampa Bay got the first goal of the game at 10:29 with a pair of Panthers in the penalty box. Oliver Bjorkstrand tipped Darren Raddysh's shot by Brandon Bussi just ten seconds after Ben Steeves (interference) joined Ryan McAllister (tripping) in the sin bin. The secondary assist on the 5-on-3 goal went to Gage Goncalves. The Panthers tied the score 4:16 later when MacKenzie Entwistle was looking for Wilmer Skoog in the slot and his centering pass hit a Lightning player's skate and eluded Jonas Johansson. Skoog was credited with the primary assist and defenseman Marek Alscher collected the second helper on the equalizer."
"A low event second period suddenly got interesting in a bad way when Conor Geekie and Jakob Pelletier scored 28 seconds apart to put the Bolts up two. Geekie's goal at the 11-minute mark was unassisted after Jake Livingstone lost control of puck along the boards, while Maxwell Crozier and Emil Lilleberg drew the assists on Pelletier's pretty redirection after he worked a give-and-go with the former."
"Skoog picked up his second assist of the night 2:30 into the third when Livingstone's shot from the right point hit him in the pants and then he backhanded the puck to McAllister, who beat Johansson short-side. McAllister led the Panthers with four shots on goal. Unfortunately, the Cats would get no closer as Johansson stopped the other five Florida shots in the frame to get the Lightning over the finish line. Johansson finished the tilt with 17 saves. Bussi also went the distance and stopped 26 of 29 shots faced."
