"Last night, Jack Studnicka scored the game-opening goal 56 seconds after initial puck drop and the game-winning power-play goal 28 seconds into overtime to lift the Panthers to a 4-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes at Amerant Bank Arena. Sandis Vilmanis and Brett Chorske scored the other Florida goals. Mackie Samoskevich collected assists on both of Studnicka's markers. The Florida Panthers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 in overtime after Jack Studnicka scored early and again on a power play in OT. Sandis Vilmanis and Brett Chorske added goals while Mackie Samoskevich assisted on both of Studnicka's markers and multiple teammates recorded assists. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped all 11 shots before yielding to prospect Cooper Black, who finished with five saves on eight shots. The Tampa Bay Lightning enter the matchup 4-0 in preseason. The neutral-site game is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at Kia Center in Orlando and will air on Scripps with Daniil Tarasov and Brandon Bussi projected for Florida.
