Benning potted his third of the preseason 1:14 later, when his centering pass attempt ramped up off Miftakhov's stick and crossed the goal line to put the outplayed Panthers ahead."

Carolina dominated the early stages, outshooting Florida 19-2 in the first and scoring on a Ryan Suzuki tip and a Jesperi Kotkaniemi snap. The Bunch of Jerks continued heavy pressure through the second, but Tarasov held firm. Frederik Andersen was replaced by prospect Amir Miftakhov in the third. Goals by Ben Harpur, Noah Gregor, Mike Benning, and Jack Studnicka completed the rally. Mike Benning now has three goals and an assist in two exhibition games.
