What Macklin Celebrini, Sharks are saying about prospect Igor Chernyshov
"I was shocked and so happy."
"He's a big boy, a ton of skill. He's got all the tools, Cardwell said. He's a smart player. He can play defensively. He can do it all. So I'm excited to see him tonight."
"he's a team guy, a leader, very hungry for the puck, adding that he's very confident that in two to three years, I'll be ready to play in"
Igor Chernyshov moved to North America less than 11 months ago and immediately produced 18 points in his first six OHL games with Saginaw. He then debuted in the AHL and became the Barracuda's leading scorer with 23 points in 25 games over roughly two months. Chernyshov was recalled by the Sharks to replace injured winger Will Smith and will make his NHL debut, starting on the top line with Macklin Celebrini. Teammates praised his size, skill and defensive ability. Chernyshov was selected 33rd overall in the NHL Draft after prior KHL experience.
