American Museum of Natural History announces free admission for low-income New Yorkers
Briefly

The American Museum of Natural History has introduced Discoverer, a free-admission membership program for low-income New York State residents receiving SNAP benefits. This program allows SNAP beneficiaries to bring up to four guests and reserve tickets online for one year. The initiative aims to support nearly 1.8 million people in the city facing financial hardships and is developed in partnership with city departments. This aligns with the Museums for All initiative aimed at expanding access to cultural institutions nationwide.
Sean M. Decatur, AMNH's president, stated, "Welcoming a more complete and representative reflection of our neighbours as members is a major aspiration for the museum, a key civic and educational institution."
AMNH's new membership programme is part of Museums for All, a nationwide initiative launched in 2014 devoted to free museum admission for Snap beneficiaries.
