"We're very data-oriented in how we choose our stores and we felt this location was most relevant to our customers,"
"We're very methodical and want to make sure the locations are brand right,"
"New York City has a large amount of skilled tradespeople,"
"Only 30-35 percent of our assortment makes it into most stores, but New York City will have greater breadth."
Carhartt will open its first New York City store in the Flatiron District at 936 Broadway, a 5,000-square-foot corner location at 22nd Street. The company prioritized accessibility to the local community and used data to select the Flatiron site over other options. The new store marks the 57th Carhartt unit, with plans to expand to roughly 100 stores by 2030 and new openings in Sioux Falls, Tempe, Prosper and Memphis. Stores must attract skilled workers, and the Manhattan unit will carry a broader assortment than most locations while maintaining the same product mix and brand authenticity.
