""It's just a football game. That's just the best way to describe it," Dart said. "Obviously, this experience was a special one, being my first one and I'm just grateful to have the guys around me that I had.""
""For a young player to come out here in his first game, against a 3-and-0 team with Herbert as quarterback and the defense, the way they were playing. It says a lot about our guys and it says a lot about [No.] 6," Daboll said."
""great [expletive] win.""
Jaxson Dart started at MetLife Stadium, celebrated with kisses to the crowd and a fist pump during introductions, and finished smiling despite a hamstring injury. The New York Giants beat the previously unbeaten Los Angeles Chargers 21-18, snapping a three-game losing streak and marking Dart's first-start victory. Dart completed 13 of 20 passes for 111 yards and rushed 10 times for 54 yards while being sacked five times. Malik Nabers suffered a serious right knee injury and was carted off, with fears of an ACL tear. The Giants ran for 161 yards on 42 carries, and the defense produced two interceptions of Justin Herbert.
