"It was a big thing that happened in the game,"
"I'm not sure what the official said, but the official was the one that asked him to be evaluated,"
"Tried to do a little trick pass on it. They did a good job covering it,"
"I didn't want to make a bad play even worse by forcing the ball, so just tried to get back to the line of scrimmage. I'm not really sure what the reason was I had to come out of the game. It was really just ... weird. I don't"
Jaxson Dart left the Giants' 29-21 loss to the Washington Commanders early in the fourth quarter to be examined for a concussion after an awkward hit. It was the fifth time in 10 games dating to the preseason that the rookie was checked for a concussion, and he had missed two games earlier after sustaining a concussion against the Chicago Bears. Dart missed two plays before being cleared and returned, then threw an incompletion on fourth down. The play occurred on first-and-goal from the 1 with 11:38 remaining after Dart faked a pitch and ran up the middle, getting sandwiched by Eddie Goldman and Javon Kinlaw as his neck bent awkwardly. Officials immediately signaled the Giants' training staff to evaluate him. The Giants said the play was not a designed run call, and interim coach Mike Kafka said an official asked for the evaluation and that Dart was fine.
