Jaxson Dart was passed over by the New Orleans Saints in the 2025 NFL Draft despite multiple pre-draft meetings and a good relationship with coach Kellen Moore and offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier. The Saints selected Texas offensive lineman Kelvin Banks at No. 9 and later drafted Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough at No. 40, who sits behind Spencer Rattler on the depth chart. The Giants traded back up to select Dart at No. 25. Dart made his first NFL start in Week 4, leading the Giants to a 21-18 upset of the previously undefeated Chargers, completing 13 of 20 for 111 yards with a passing and rushing touchdown.
