"Jaxson Dart spent the final few seconds of Sunday's game in a staring contest with the clock. He had been on the sideline in Dallas two weeks ago when the Giants thought they had a game won in the final seconds but didn't and he wanted to make sure this time the timer hit all zeros before he accepted the victory."
"When it finally did, and the Giants had pulled off an unlikely 21-18 win over the previously unbeaten Chargers in his first NFL start, Dart casually walked onto the field. People kept coming up to him wanting to celebrate. Coach Brian Daboll wrapped his arms around his head for a long hug, fellow rookie Abdul Carter unloaded a long choreographed handshake on him and dozens of others were pounding his shoulder pads like they were a drum kit."
Jaxson Dart started his first NFL game and led the New York Giants to a 21-18 upset of the previously unbeaten Los Angeles Chargers. He watched the clock until it reached zeros before accepting the victory. Teammates and coaches celebrated him with hugs, handshakes and shoulder pad slaps as he walked calmly through the crowd. Dart finished with 111 passing yards, one lengthy 70-yard scramble nullified by penalty, and he played much of the second half with a sore hamstring. He endured five sacks and underwent a brief concussion test. The performance reinforced confidence in his poise and potential.
