
"A Siena College poll released Tuesday found that 54 percent of voters would support Hochul in the general election compared to 28 percent for Bruce Blakeman, the Republican Nassau County executive who is her prime GOP challenger. Only 17 percent responded that they didn't know or had no opinion. That marks a slight shift from Siena's December findings, which showed Hochul ahead with 50 percent to Blakeman's 25 percent."
"On favorability, 49 percent of registered voters said they had a favorable opinion of Hochul compared to 40 percent who viewed her unfavorably. According to Siena, this marks the first time that the governor has hit this relatively modest approval rating, and it's an improvement from its December survey, where she polled 43 percent favorable to 41 percent unfavorable. When broken down by party, Hochul has a 69 percent favorability among Democrats, while 70 percent of Republicans have an unfavorable opinion of her."

The lead increased slightly from December's 50–25 result. Regional breakdowns show Hochul leading 61–19 in New York City, 50–36 in the suburbs, and 47–33 upstate. In a Democratic primary matchup, 64 percent would back Hochul compared with 11 percent for Antonio Delgado and 23 percent unsure. Favorability stands at 49 percent favorable and 40 percent unfavorable, improved from 43–41 in December, with a 69 percent favorability among Democrats and 70 percent unfavorable among Republicans.
