The New England Patriots conducted their third training camp practice in hot conditions, lasting approximately 75 minutes without helmets or pads. Head coach Mike Vrabel reduced practice intensity, opting for a lighter walkthrough session. Key absences included WR Ja'Lynn Polk and others on PUP or NFI lists, while CB Carlton Davis and DT Jahvaree Ritzie returned to practice. Vrabel emphasized the importance of team response during a lighter practice and expressed hope for a more vigorous session in the following practice.
"Today will be a lighter day so that you guys can understand that this will be more of a walkthrough. But again, it's important, I think, to see how our team responds and are able to work in that capacity. I'm hopeful that we can get something out of this, come back, really have some speed tomorrow and really have a good one tomorrow before our day off."
The attendance for practice included the return of cornerback Carlton Davis and defensive lineman Jahvaree Ritzie. Davis, who opened camp on the NFI list, had his absence previously described by head coach Mike Vrabel as 'kind of maintenance and continuing to kind of give him what he needs as part of the plan.'
