Pat McAfee identifies himself as the 'somebody' who 'embarrassed' John Mellencamp at Pacers-Knicks game
Briefly

John Mellencamp publicly apologized on behalf of Indiana fans for the poor sportsmanship shown during a recent Pacers game against the Knicks. He criticized the booing directed at Knicks supporters who traveled to Indiana to cheer for their team. Although he did not name ESPN personality Pat McAfee directly, it was clear McAfee's actions prompted Mellencamp's disapproval. McAfee later admitted to instigating the crowd's behavior by encouraging boos directed at celebrity Knicks fans, a move that Mellencamp found disgraceful for Hoosier pride.
I was embarrassed when somebody, under whose direction I don't know, called out some of the people who had made the trip from New York to support their team - and in turn, support our team.
I am 'somebody,' McAfee wrote, in response to Mellencamp's comments.
