The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders faced a challenging start due to rain but managed to secure three wins in a five-game series against the Rochester Red Wings. Notable moments included strong performances by Jose Rojas, who achieved his second grand slam of the season, and Dominic Smith, who also hit a grand slam to help the team win. The series showcased the team's resilience as they overcame deficits, culminating in a decisive 12-0 victory in the finale on Mother's Day, featuring contributions from multiple players, including Alex Jackson and Smith.
It was a soggy start to a two-week homestand for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, yet somehow they made it through the rain to win three of five games played against the Rochester Red Wings.
Although Rochester took the second game, 8-5, Jose Rojas managed to etch his name again into the RailRiders record book. He hit a grand slam, making him the seventh player in franchise history with two in one season.
The fact that it (hitting two grand slams in one season) is not a common thing makes a little more special. I'm just thankful, really, for the Yankees to give me another opportunity to be here once again this season.
Dominic Smith had a grand slam in the opener of the second doubleheader May 10, helping the RailRiders overcome an early five-run deficit and win in eight innings, 7-6.
