""Alton Plunkett took numerous bribes to help RCI and its executives cheat New Yorkers and avoid paying their fair share in taxes," she said."
Alton Plunkett, a former New York state tax auditor, was indicted for allegedly accepting luxury trips, cash, and private dances from RCI Hospitality executives in exchange for favorable treatment during audits over more than a decade. Charges include bribe receiving, criminal tax fraud, conspiracy, and falsifying business records. Prosecutors allege at least 13 multi-day trips covering hotels, restaurants, and thousands in daily club entertainment, with private dances costing up to $5,000 a day. Controller Timothy Winata allegedly delivered bribes on at least ten occasions, and payments were recorded as "promotional" expenses. Plunkett faces up to 25 years if convicted.
