The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has faced severe criticism since becoming the main aid supplier for Gaza, following Israel's lift of a blockade. Founded only months ago, GHF struggled with logistical challenges, particularly in ensuring safe access for civilians to food distribution centers. The organization recently had to suspend operations due to security concerns after civilians were shot while seeking aid. Despite GHF's claims of delivering 8.5 million meals without incident, skepticism remains about its ability to effectively operate given its lack of experienced leadership and established support systems in the region.
Since its operations began last week, dozens of civilians have been killed by gunfire while seeking to access the food-distribution centers.
GHF is already on its second leader, a Trump-supporting evangelical Christian public-relations executive.
Israeli authorities and GHF had no realistic plan for what the logistics industry calls "the last mile"-the process of getting goods from a distribution center to the customer.
GHF has defended its work, claiming "almost 8.5 million meals have been delivered so far-without incident."
