After a positive home pregnancy test, an obstetrician measured the fetus a few days late but within normal limits. A planned 12-week appointment shifted to 13 weeks because of a London trip. Reaching 12 weeks prompted Kylie and Jason to reveal the pregnancy to family through surprise announcements, many of which were recorded. Kylie said she guarded disclosure due to awareness of miscarriage rates and expressed sorrow for others who have experienced loss.
