K-9 Officer Freedom retired after seven years of service with the Orange County Fire Authority. Freedom investigated arson cases, contributed to community safety, and participated in public events. The agency honored Freedom and handler Captain Shawn Miller in a radio call that included a montage of Freedom's investigations. Captain Miller appeared slightly emotional during the call. The agency described Freedom as officially out of service and said the dog will spend retirement playing fetch, napping, and receiving affection. The agency publicly thanked Freedom for dedicated service and celebrated the K-9's contributions.
