WESTBURY GOTHIC - KALTBLUT Magazine
"Nostalgic Requiem - whispers in the fading light of autumn. In these tender seams, we grow stronger- carrying ancestral warmth into the cold, letting their spirits move with us into the future. We inherit the poetics of our predecessors -the gestures, the rituals, the beauty - and reinterpret them in our own emotional language-a romance with what remains and what still whispers."
"Of Japanese American descent, I was born in Okinawa, Japan and raised in Seattle. I arrived in New York in 2011 and fell instantly into the city's electric queer nightlife. I found myself behind the bar at the legendary after-hours club The Spectrum, rubbing elbows with cultural provocateurs and visionaries-Bruce LaBruce, Luar, Telfar, Matiéres Fecales, Wolfgang Tillmans, Total Freedom, Arca, Björk, and more."
An autumnal fashion editorial frames a Nostalgic Requiem that evokes ancestral warmth moving into colder futures. The imagery pairs tender seams and gestures with contemporary emotional language, reinterpreting predecessors' poetics, rituals, and beauty. Olivia Petersen models garments from 831 Minhle, Comme des Garçons, Dion Lee, Emma Joan Foley, Erickson Beamon, Pier Antonio Gaspari, and Vaquera. Creative direction and styling are by Fet Hilario, with photography by Vazha Kuchuloria, makeup by Cyler Daigle, and hair by Dylan Silver. Fet Hilario's background blends Japanese American roots, Seattle upbringing, and immersion in New York's queer nightlife, supported by a fine-art photography foundation from the Art Institute of Seattle.
