Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that Aaron Rodgers' situation will not affect the team's draft strategy as they prepare for the NFL Draft. Tomlin acknowledged that the draft could influence future talent acquisitions but emphasized there is no immediate deadline for making decisions surrounding Rodgers. He clarified prior comments about training camp, stating they pertain to team development rather than any individual player acquisition. Meanwhile, Rodgers expressed his intention to take his time with a decision concerning his future, asserting he owes no one an answer regarding his timeline.
"It does not," he said when asked about the Rodgers' situation affecting the team's strategy in a news conference Tuesday.
"I think what you do in the draft oftentimes affects maybe some talent acquisition that happens after," Tomlin said.
"I'm just saying in general, when you report to training camp man, it's a line of demarcation for development of a group individually and collectively."
"This entire time I haven't felt like I owe anyone a decision at any point," Rodgers said. "This is my life now."
