"Our commitment is unwavering: Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin will continue to provide the full spectrum of reproductive health care - including abortion - as soon as we are able," PPWI president Tanya Atkinson said in a statement. Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin announced it will not schedule abortion services beyond September 30 due to funding cuts in the "One Big Beautiful Bill" Act. The organization said the pause is intended to be temporary but provided no timeline for resuming abortions. PPWI is the first known Planned Parenthood affiliate to halt abortion services because of provisions in the bill. The affiliate operates three abortion clinics in Madison, Milwaukee, and Sheboygan and 22 additional health centers offering contraception, STI testing, gynecological exams, and pregnancy services. PPWI is pursuing legal, operational, and civic avenues while continuing other reproductive health care. Federal law prevents use of federal funds for abortion services under the Hyde Amendment.
