William Paul, son of Sen. Rand Paul, apologized after a drunken confrontation with Rep. Mike Lawler in a Capitol Hill bar. Paul interrupted Lawler’s conversation with a reporter and made anti-Semitic remarks, saying that if Rep. Thomas Massie lost a Kentucky primary, it would be because of “your people,” followed by “Yeah, you Jews.” Lawler challenged the claim and Paul responded with an apology for calling him a Jew. Paul then continued by calling Jews anti-American and accusing Lawler and Jewish supporters of backing Israel over America. Lawler pushed back, told Paul he was being antisemitic, and asked him to leave. Paul left after flipping off Lawler and admitting he was drunk.
