Easter in Dolores Park celebrated queer culture and solidarity with the trans community under the theme "No Easter without the T." Attendees included community leaders and political figures who addressed the importance of inclusivity and resilience in the face of political challenges. Sister Roma emphasized the crucial role of the trans community in queer history, stating their integral involvement in liberation movements. The event featured vibrant prayers, speeches, and a strong atmosphere of joy and defiance against oppression, reflecting the spirit of the LGBTQ+ community's resistance and pride.
"I am really proud of our theme this year," Sister Roma told me. "No Easter without the T. It's to show our solidarity with the trans community, which is under brutal attack right now."
"The transgender community has been at the forefront of queer liberation," added Roma. "From the Compton's Cafeteria riots to Stonewall - there is no LGB without the T."
I love this event because this represents everything they hate!" declared out gay State Senator Scott Wiener during the event.
"Rainbow energy is brighter than life itself," proclaimed Sister Shelita Corndog during the opening prayer. "Free stolen immigrants and all of us who Trump would disappear."
