A space that once housed a historic San Francisco dive bar might be resurrected
"According to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, a business called Silver Apple LLC applied for a Type 42 license at the property, which would allow operators to sell wine and beer. ABC representatives told SFGATE that because the application is still pending, the department is unable to release more information. However, Silver Apple executives - Arthur Javier and Erika Martinez - are also behind Program Audio, a San Francisco-based record label."
"In a recent GoFundMe describing the project as a bar, Martinez, the organizer, asked the public for financial support, citing the "long and unpredictable process that so many small businesses owners face when trying to open in San Francisco." "It's a reality that many never make it to opening day, something we've recently felt the weight of ourselves," the November Program Audio post says. "But with support from our community, we believe soon we can open our doors and bring this vision to life.""
Silver Apple LLC applied for a Type 42 license for the former Lucky 13 space at 2140 Market St., which would permit sale of wine and beer. Silver Apple executives Arthur Javier and Erika Martinez are affiliated with Program Audio, a San Francisco-based record label and DJ collective that hosts events across the Bay Area. Program Audio launched a GoFundMe describing the project as a bar and requested community financial support to navigate San Francisco’s lengthy permitting process. The original Lucky 13 opened in 1994, closed in winter 2020, and plans to convert the site to condos previously stalled due to zoning. Donations are designated for rent, inspections, permits, utilities, compliance upgrades, and cosmetic work.
